This medallion depicts Gallia, a Romano-Gallic goddess of the region of Gaul, which encompassed much of modern day France to Northern Italy. There is no known information about the goddess besides her name and the region to which she was dedicated, but images of her were popular on coins and medallions in 19th-century France.
