In-person multi-day class. Instructors: Kevin Potter, Annie Pennington, and Lynette Andreasen. A 3-Day workshop all about die striking rings with both antique tooling, and our modern hydraulic jewelry presses.
Time: June 25: 5-7pm welcome dinner with a brief history and tour of Potter USA. June 26-28: 9:00am - 4:00pm. June 28 closing dinner 5pm-7pm.

Wednesday, June 25th - Arrive in Tucson and join us for a welcome dinner from 5-7pm. Kevin will give a presentation on the history of die striking and how he got into collecting hubs and dies for his business. See the Potter Shop and our incredible collection of historical tools.
Thursday, June 26th, (9:00am - 4:00pm) - Kevin will teach students to use an antique (mid 1800s) screw press to strike silver in an antique die, just like they did it 100 years ago. Students will die strike a ring band and make a finished band ring using a historical die. Students will join Potter USA staff for a company potluck lunch.
Friday, June 27th - Students will learn to use a modern die replicated from an historical hub. The die will be used in one of our hydraulic jewelry presses. Students will create a finished band ring.
Saturday, June 28th - Students will make a humpback-style ring using the hydraulic press. Students will also learn to make a heavy-walled bezel setting and set a stone in their ring. After class we will close out the workshop with a dinner from 5-7pm.
Additional details will be provided closer to the start of class. Housing, transportation, and additional costs are the responsibility of the student.
