This locket from Foster & Bailey was made for the 1939 New York World's Fair. The theme for that year's fair was originally "The World of Tomorrow," but as tensions heightened in Europe during the summer of 1939, the theme was changed to "For Peace and Freedom." This locket originally hung from a leafy impression die that, while we have in the shop, is too soft to use. Design: 31/32" x 3/4"

This die must be used in a hydraulic press. Design: 1" diameter. Overall die measures 3-3/8" x 5-1/2".
