Impression Die Ptolemy's Sphinx Left
This Egyptian revival sphinx has a brother! This design contains elements of both Egyptian and Greek sphinxes. Egyptian sphinxes were wingless, predominantly male, and had the heads of pharaohs while Greek sphinxes were winged, always female, and monsters in mythology. We called it Ptolemy's Sphinx, since the Ptolemaic dynasty in Egypt was Greek. This design comes from the Ru-Mart collection. NOTE: The bar at the bottom of the hub is NOT part of the design and is easily sawed off.
Design: 1-1/4" x 15/16"
