NOTE: Due to problems getting our products powder coated, and our desire to sell the guard at the lowest possible, break-even price, the steel guard is not painted and will rust if you live in a humid environment. You can spray paint the base and cover, if you'd like. Rust on this product is not considered a defect, and by purchasing it, you acknowledge that the steel is uncoated and may rust. Potter USA is not liable for any rust that develops on this product.

Top and bottom platens are not meant to touch - it will cause the jack to overextend and cause leaking, or for jack to fail. Always use spacers on lower platen to take up space between platens.
