Hollow Beads with the Hydraulic Press Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 Time: 9:00am - 4:00 pm Instructors: Annie Pennington This 6-hour intensive class is all about learning how to use impression dies and silhouette dies to make a variety of hollow beads! This technique-focused class will introduce you to the art of creating versatile, hollow components to take home and use in your jewelry creations. In this class, you’ll learn how to: • Choose impression dies that are suitable for making hollow beads, and then use those impression dies to make beads. • Pattern metal with pattern plates and use silhouette dies to make hollow beads – including asymmetrical designs. • Explore different soldering setups and techniques to get the best results. NOTE: This is a technique-based class. You’ll finish multiple beads to take home with you, but the focus is not on creating finished jewelry using those beads. Students must be comfortable with soldering and basic metalsmithing skills. This is an intermediate course, and confidence in the basic skills is necessary to be able to concentrate on learning new skills. Class registration cost includes copper for students to use in class. If you would like to make silver beads, we recommend bringing 20 gauge silver sheet, at least 2x2" or larger depending on your project choices. The classroom is located at 1949 E. If you cancel 7 or more days before your class, you'll receive a full refund—no problem! - Schedule Conflict?
If you cancel 3 to 6 days before the class, we’ll issue you a credit to use toward a future Potter Classroom class. - Cancellations & No-Shows:
Cancellations made 24 hours before the class are non-refundable.
Unfortunately, no-shows are also not eligible for refunds or credits. - Can’t Make It? Send a Friend!
You're welcome to transfer your spot to someone else—just send us an email at least 48 hours in advance to let us know who’s coming in your place. - Studio Canceled Classes:
If we need to cancel a class for any reason, you’ll have the option of a full refund or a full credit toward a future class—your choice. - Makeup Classes:
At this time, we’re unable to offer makeup sessions for missed classes. If you’re unsure you can attend, we recommend waiting until a future date that works better for your schedule. - How to Cancel or Transfer Your Spot:
